Phacodynamics, Techniques and Fluidics:
  • Understanding the various phaco techniques.
  • Machine adjustment and parameters selection.
  • Intra-operative complications and how to manage them.
Surgical Steps: Hands-on intense training for all surgical steps to acquire the necessary skills to perform surgeries including:

  1. Capsulorhexis techniques.
  2. Capsulorhexis Complication Management.
  3. Hydro procedure – Tips and difficulties.
  4. Phacoemulsification techniques:
    • Divide and Conquer.
    • Stop and Chop.
    • Direct Chop.
  5. Bimanual Irrigation/Aspiration.
  6. IOL insertion techniques.
Advanced Phaco Course and it includes:
(For Surgeons who want to learn
advanced Phaco Procedures and
difficult cases)
  • Poor dilating pupil (for iris hooks).
  • Zonulysis (for CTR insertion).
  • Anterior vitrectomy.
  • Scleral fixation IOL implantation (all methods).
  • Membranous cataract.
  • Cataract with the hazy cornea.
Course Duration: The Phaco course duration is from 1 week to 4 weeks with any number of cases. The duration can be adjusted to satisfy the needs of each individual surgeon.

Dates will be determined according to hospital availability and priority of booking.
Machine: INFINITY, centurion and Faros – Oertli machines
Evaluation: Video Record and Intraoperative Documented Sheet for each surgery are available for candidates to review their own surgeries and discuss with the trainers.
Candidates: Will be selected for the appropriate course according to their previous surgical experience.
Application Procedures: Applications must be accompanied by curriculum vitae, a copy of the applicant’s degree/diploma certificates, Logbook.
Certificate: By the end of the course, trainers will receive a signed and stamped certificate indicated no. of surgeries performed, logbook and Phaco book about procedures steps and diagnosis.
